The best place to stay in Victoria Falls depends on how you want to spend your days. Central properties, residential guest lodges and river or wildlife settings each offer a different balance of access and atmosphere.

Staying in the Town Centre

Victoria Falls is a small town, and the centre is where you'll find most restaurants, shops, craft markets and activity booking offices. The entrance to Victoria Falls National Park, where you walk the rainforest viewpoints, is close to town.

Staying in a Residential Area

Residential guest lodges and self-catering villas are a real part of what Victoria Falls offers. They tend to be quieter and smaller, with gardens and pools, and many include breakfast. Check each property's current information rather than assuming similar listings have the same access to town.

Staying Along the Zambezi River

Upstream of the Falls, lodges along the Zambezi offer river views, sunset cruises from nearby jetties and a quieter setting. A river view is not the same as a view of the Falls, so check what the room actually looks out on. Many riverside lodges are a short drive from town, so ask about transfers or a shuttle.

Staying in or Beside Zambezi National Park

Zambezi National Park lies upstream of town along the river. Lodges in or beside it suit travellers who want wildlife and a more remote feel while still being able to reach the Falls. Expect to rely on game drives, transfers or your own vehicle.

Staying Outside Town

Lodges in private reserves and sanctuaries offer more privacy and space, and some have wildlife viewing from the lodge itself. They suit longer stays, honeymoons and travellers who want to combine the Falls with a safari-style break.

Measure the Distance That Matters

Check the distance to the Falls entrance, to restaurants and to your activity pickup point separately. A map label saying "Victoria Falls" does not tell you whether a property is within walking distance of the rainforest gate. A walk-to-the-Falls claim needs a route, not a straight line on a map.

Compare Convenience With the Full Cost

A lower room price can be less helpful if you need several paid transfers each day. A package may be better value if it includes things you would otherwise buy, but compare the exact inclusions before deciding.

Choosing by Budget and Travel Style

Compare by type: hotels, lodges or self-catering stays. Each listing explains whether you enquire through us or book with the property.
